ABOUT CAMERATA
I started Camerata in March of 2008. I wanted to create a comfortable place in Hollywood where my bands and my friends bands could play. It took place every Sunday night for 200 weeks straight. We had 3 live music performances a night, a live artist or two or seven, and a projectionist by the name of Michael Allen. My group at the time, the Devil's Orchestra, did a 72 week residency to kickstart Camerata. I then gave the residency to Young the Giant. After them, Skrillex took the residency. Then the Rival Sons, then Kiev, then Dead Sara. Some other bands to perform were the Growlers, Symphonic Circles, Rob Roy, Vanaprasta, the Germs, HoneyHoney, Audra Mae, Big Sir, the Diamond Light, Dahga Bloom, Dirty Murdered Birds, Neon Trees, White Arrows, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero, SKRILMO, Yellow Alex & the Feelings, Voxhaul Broadcast, 87 Stick Up Kids, and Lemon Sun. Just to name a few. I put Camerata into hibernation on our 200th show (Nov 20th, 2011) to focus on new ideas and musical ventures.
